Meet Chloe Turner, our Plus1 and MATCH Lab program expert

Your go-to for everything Plus1 and MATCH Lab Chloe administers our funding programs and is ready, willing and able to talk through your fundraising strategy and help you through the application process.
From her career in arts management and following her own creative pursuits, get to know Chloe a little more below.
Red wine or white?
Bit of both! I love a nice glass of red wine on a cold night, but depending on what I’m eating for dinner can always go a white wine too.
Vinyl or streaming?
Hmm, tricky question – I do the occasional fill in on PBS 106.7fm community radio in Melbourne, so having a large vinyl collection for that is important, but I have used Spotify for years so a very large portion of my music collection is on there now.
Can you tell us some of your career/artistic highlights from before your Creative Partnerships life?
Before joining the Creative Partnerships team I was working full time at Music Victoria. This included running The Age Music Victoria Awards – a celebration and party of the best music from the last 12 months – as well as coordinator of membership drives and helping musicians succeed in the music industry with things like professional development workshops.
I also run a record label – LISTEN Records – and was volunteering as a board member for a feminist music collective called LISTEN. Some of my highlights from that work have been releasing music on vinyl, selling out album launches and running the second LISTEN Conference in 2016, which was a sell out three-day event. And I am also a musician. I’m in a few bands and play at venues around Melbourne pretty regularly. The biggest highlight there would be the release of debut tapes for both bands and playing at the legendary Tote.
As our Program Officer, what would you say is your key role?
Managing the Plus1 and Match Lab funding programs and helping any artists or arts organisations with queries they may have in relation to their applications.
Whether they’re a seasoned funding applicant or a first-timer – what should anyone do before they go anywhere near filling out an application form?
Call me and discuss their application! I’d love to hear about everyone’s ideas before they spend too much time on an application to make sure they’re on the right track.
