AMPAG Tracking Changes in Corporate Sponsorship and Donations 2020

Results from our survey in partnership with Australian Major Performing Arts Group (AMPAG), Tracking Changes in Corporate Sponsorship and Donations 2020 are now available.

In 2019 total revenue from business sponsorship, donations and net fundraising events within the major performing arts sector increased $0.3 million or 0.3 per cent to $124.7 million in 2019.

2019 gross earnings were marginally up on 2019 (0.3% growth), fairing modestly well given the current environment, however net income dropped by 4.1% on 2018.

2020 is expected to show significant reduction in gross earnings, with organisations collectively forecasting a near 30% drop in total income due to closures as a result of COVID-19. This could see the collective income falling back to 2015/2016 levels.

Creative Partnerships Australia has become the custodian of this research and look forward to working with the organisations in this study to continue this important research.
