MATCH Lab
MATCH Lab builds fundraising skills and provides dollar-for-dollar matched funding for fundraising campaigns.
Our 2020 MATCH Lab participants are currently developing their campaigns and honing their fundraising skills with our online workshops. Applications for 2021 will open later this year.
MATCH Lab is our matched funding program for independent artists and groups. It’s for artists looking to build their fundraising and arts business skills and run a fundraising campaign.
It supports artists to increase their knowledge of philanthropy and arts partnerships, develop broader arts business knowledge and create sustainable sources of revenue for their work into the future.
MATCH Lab is more than just a funding program; it emphasises long-term skills development.
If you’re successful, you’ll take part in a professional development clinic AND be eligible for matched funding for your fundraising campaign.
About the program
Through MATCH Lab we provide independent artists and artistic groups with:
- A place at our two-day Raising Money for Your Art professional development and fundraising clinic.
- Matched funding of up to $5,000 per project.
- Campaign advice and support.
If your application is successful, you’ll attend our two-day Raising Money for Your Art clinic. Here, you’ll connect with experts and your peers to develop a fundraising plan for supporting your arts practice and your next artistic project.
Armed with your fundraising plan, your next step is to develop and implement your own tailored fundraising campaign.
Where does the ‘match’ part come in? We’ll also give your project a boost by matching the amount you raise during your fundraising campaign dollar-for-dollar (up to $5,000), to help you leverage support for your new project.
We offer up to 40 places nationally to participate in MATCH Lab. For the 20/21 round, the clinic will take place either online or in person, depending on current health advice relating to COVID-19. Either way, participants will be fully supported to attend.
Artists come from all states and territories across Australia and deliver projects across a wide range of art forms; from circus and physical theatre, dance and film to community arts, architecture and design, and events.
MATCH Lab supports campaigns hosted on any fundraising platform, including the Australian Cultural Fund, which is managed by us.
