The importance of Giving Attitude

Creative Partnerships Australia’s second survey of private support for the arts has been distributed within the sector, providing insight into philanthropy, sponsorship, partnerships, and investment in the arts.

The importance of Giving Attitude

‘Giving Attitude’ enables organisations to understand the challenges they face when embarking on fundraising strategies, providing fundamental benchmarks so they can effectively determine what is achievable and set reasonable expectations for return on investment.

Over 2,200 arts and cultural organisations were invited to participate in the first survey, sharing information around the key experiences and challenges they were facing with fundraising, and surveys are now in market to provide current sector trends.

Matthew Morse, Executive Director of Strategy and Programs at Creative Partnerships Australia, is a driving force in the strategic updating of data resulting from the Giving Attitude surveys.

“We are seeking input to this second Giving Attitude survey so that we have the most complete data set possible and the findings in the report accurately reflect the fundraising environment in which arts professionals are operating,” he said.

“The final report will be valuable to organisations as it will provide them with data against which they can benchmark their own fundraising achievements. Over time, the report enables us to see trends in arts fundraising, and better understand how private sector support contributes to the sector alongside government funding.”

Organisations that have received the Giving Attitude survey are encouraged to take the time to complete and return it. Download a PDF of the survey here.
