In the October Budget, Minister Burke confirmed his election commitment to transfer the funding and functions of Creative Partnerships Australia to the Australia Council. This was reconfirmed in the National Cultural Policy. This will take effect from 1 July 2023.

The Australia Council, which will be renamed Creative Australia, will continue the programs run by Creative Partnerships and hopes to build on them over time.

In particular:

  • the next round of the Plus 1 matched funding program will be launched in July, as usual; and
  • administration of the Australian Cultural Fund will be transferred to Creative Australia and the ACF will continue without interruption.

Creative Australia will maintain Creative Partnerships’ network of State Managers, currently based in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, providing fundraising coaching and advice; and Melbourne-based Creative Partnerships staff will remain Melbourne-based.

Changes to contact details will be communicated widely prior to 1 July.

In the meantime, Creative Partnerships Australia will continue to deliver its suite of programs and services until 30 June.

Staff of both organisations look forward to continuing to work with the cultural sector and other stakeholders to foster a culture of private sector support for the arts in Australia.
